The Second International Congress of Volunteers of Educational Tourism, Culture and Media "Living Heritage of the Small Motherland" and of the Literary Festival "#Discover Russia. The Don Word" is a part of a large-scale educational project #Discover Russia
that has been implemented since 2013 and brings together thousands of information volunteers, lovers of the Russian language and literature from Russia and abroad.
The events are held with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund, members of the Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation on territorial development and local self-government.
The organizing committee is headed by Leonid Shafirov
, member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation. The purpose of events
is to create conditions for uniting the residents of Russia, sister territories of its cities and regions, compatriots living abroad, and foreign students around a common cause: studying and facilitation of public access to the literary heritage of outstanding Russian writers and poets, exploring the sights related to their lives, formation and creative work, theatrical and film performances based on their works.
In 2019, the First International Congress of Volunteers of Culture and Media was held. It was attended by representatives of 18 countries and 25 regions of Russia. The total number of participants exceeded 1,500 persons. Click this link
